Last week Un Mundo Cafe established a place on my list of local restaurants to “hit up” in Springfield. As the beginning days of my college experience went on, the idea of stopping by left my mind. Until a few days ago, when I was looking for a new spot other then the ones campus such as the CDR and Post. Boy! Was I missing out!
Their coffee, baked goods, and of course, their sandwiches where excellent and brought out in a timely manner that could rival any fast food establishment. It in my opinion, the coffee was the best I have had since I have came up to the north. (Of course that is only being compared to the CDR and the “always wonderful” Post coffee) After recently experiencing hummus, I decided to try Un Mundo Café’s hummus sandwich, which in my opinion is very good. The only downfall is it is the only vegetarian option, so I really can't talk about any of the other food.
The second that you walk into the establishment you are welcomed by the friendly staff. The atmosphere is that of a cozy, homely, café. Perhaps the best part of this establishment is not the atmosphere, or the welcoming employees, some might go as far to say the best part isn’t even the free wifi. In fact the best part is how the company is a non-profit business, with all proceeds going to children’s charities.
Un Mundo Café is located in the historic and beautiful Heritage center in the middle of downtown Springfield. if your looking for a cozy, welcoming, and non-profit and, the good feeling you get spending your money, then stop at Un Mundo Café
